Feedback - Some thoughts about it
Hallo und Willkommen auf Painters Delight!
Mir ist gestern erneut etwas in einem Forum aufgefallen, was mir bereits seit einigen Monaten "Sorge" bereitet. Sogar so sehr, dass ich zusammen mit 2 Hobby-Freunden ein neues Forum gegründet habe (www.brushbrothers.de), um das Problem zumindest dort anzugehen. Es geht darum, auf welche Art und Weise die Nutzer in den verschiedenen Foren ihr Feedback zu einem entstehendem oder vollendetem Werk schreiben.

Yesterday I've recognized once more something in a forum that I am reading daily that fulfills me with sorrow for some time now. There was enough sorrow to create a new forum (www.brushbrothers.de) together with 2 friends I know due to my hobby to get a small place to do something against it. It's all about the way people are giving feedback on other peoples work.
"Super, gefällt mir!", "Wahnsinn!" oder "Perfekt!" Schmeicheln zwar jeden Künstler und zaubern ihm ein kurzes Lächeln ins Gesicht, aber mehr als Anerkennung kann er daraus nicht erkennen. Einigen geht es beim präsentieren ihrer Werke möglicherweise nur darum zu zeigen, was man wieder vollbracht hat. Aber ein Großteil möchte sich auch weiterentwickeln und ist dankbar für Hinweise auf Schwächen, beispielsweise "Wow! Das gefällt mir sehr gut. Wenn du XY noch so und so abänderst, macht es richtig BAM!". Gleiches, und das ist aus meiner Sicht und Erfahrung noch viel wichtiger, gilt es natürlich, dieses auch bei entstehenden Werken zu tun. Ein kurzer Kommentar, was einem nicht gefällt ist weit weniger Wert als jener, der eine kurze Erklärung beinhaltet, warum es nicht so gut gelungen ist und vor allem: Wie man es besser machen kann. Hier hilft die simple Erläuterung oder, sofern vorhanden, der link zu einem ausführlichen Tutorial (Quellen könnten hier zB das entsprechende Forum sein, Blogs wie zB MassiveVoodoo oder die riesige Sammlung von Tutofig).

Some may only show there work to present it. But the majority would continue to develop and would appreciate your comments on weaknesses, such as "Wow! I like that very well. If you are going to paint XY this way it really would make BAM!". The same, and this is from my perspective and experience, is more important to do with a still growing project. A short comment that just displeases ones work is far less value than that which includes a brief explanation of why you don't like it. And above all, how he can make it better. This is where the simple explanation, or if present, the link to a detailed tutorial (sources could be the appropriate forum, blogs such as Massive Voodoo or the vast collection of Tutofig).
Mir ist bewusst, dass es mehr Zeit in Anspruch nimmt, einen solchen Kommentar zu hinterlassen als ein kurzes "Wow!", aber hilft man dem Künstler damit nicht weit mehr?!
Ich schreibe lieber eine etwas ausführlichere Antwort mit Hilfestellung als 10 unqualifizierte, leere Phrasen weil mir für die Ausführlichkeit die Zeit fehlt.

Ich freue mich jedesmal, wenn sich jemand die Zeit nimmt, ein ausführliches Feedback über meine Werke zu schreiben. Selbst dann, wenn er sich nur ein oder zwei Punkte heraussucht. Der nächste wird sich vermutlich andere Punkte heraussuchen und so wird jeder Bereich abgedeckt.
I won't hold a great speech on this subject and more important I'll prevent to bore you (and keep this article deliberately short) ... but just gather your thoughts about this article and think about what you could do with 2 more minutes invested in writing a comment. I am happy every time someone takes the time to write a detailed feedback on my work. Even if he just picked one or two things i could do better. The next will probably seek out other points and then each area will be covered.
Diese Art von Hilfe kann wirklich jeder leisten. Es ist hierbei keinesfalls relevant, ob man bereits jahrelange Erfahrung im bemalen von Miniaturen hat, oder ob man erst vor kurzem begonnen hat. Die Art und Weise, wie diese Personen schreiben ist sicher unterschiedlich, aber selbst ein Anfänger kann kundtun, was und warum ihm das nicht gefällt. Vielleicht hat er keinen Lösungsansatz, aber womöglich springt der Nächste auf diesen Zug auf und ergänzt seine Antwort um die entsprechende Lösung.
This kind of help can really afford. It's not relevant whether you already have years of experience in the painting of miniatures, or whether you have just begun. The way how these people write is certainly different, but even a novice can tell what and why he did not like it. Maybe he has no solution, but the next jump on this train and supplemented his answer to the solution.
Mir fiel es zu Beginn schwer, Feedback zu geben (gerade bei den "großen" Malern). Ich war mir unsicher wegen der fehlenden Erfahrung und hatte auch Angst, etwas falsches zu schreiben. Doch je häufiger ich Feedback gegeben habe, desto sicherer wurde ich mir. Es geht doch immer darum, ob es einem gefällt oder nicht - Facebook ist das beste Beispiel: I like it! Also einfach etwas Mut sammeln und die ersten Schritte wagen.
At the beginning it wasn't easy to provide feedback (especially for the "great" painters). I was uncertain because of the lack of experience and was afraid to write something wrong. But the more feedback I've given, the more confident I became. It's always a question of whether one likes it or not - Facebook is the best example: I like it! So just gather some courage and risk the first step.
Von solchen Diskussionen ernährt sich ein Forum - dein Forum! - warum sollten wir es also nicht qualifiziert füttern und so am leben erhalten?
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn dieser kurze Text seine Runden durch das World Wide Web dreht und so möglichst viele Forennutzer kurz zum nachdenken anregt. Vielleicht ist das ja der kleine Stein, der alles ins Rollen bringt...

Time is slipping away when you have 2 little buggers at home... Yes, our daughter dropped and is fulfilling the heart of me and my wife with love.
So the time invested in painting miniatures will be reduced drastically. There are more important things right now. ;)

Brushbrothers & Sisters
Der ein oder andere von euch hat es sicher schon mitbekommen. Wir, das sind The_Count, Serafin und ich, haben ein neues Forum für die Malszene erstellt, dessen Schwerpunkt rein auf dem bemalen von Miniaturen liegt.

Ziel ist es, durch ehrliches Feedback den Malern Schrittweise zu besseren Ergebnissen zu verhelfen.
In der bisherigen Testphase war es nur möglich, sich dort durch die persönliche Einladung eines bestehenden Mitglieds zu registrieren. Nachdem diese Phase positiv verlaufen ist, haben wir uns dazu entschlossen, das Forum für alle Interessenten zugänglich zu machen. Ihr könnt euch nun auch ohne Einladung registrieren.
Was erwartet euch auf Brushbrothers- & Sisters?
Nun, neben den "klassischen" Elementen wie einem Schaukasten und dem WIP-Bereich sowie modernster Forensoftware haben wir ein ständig wachsendes Repertoire an Blogs, deren Beiträge automatisch in einem Bereich des Forums gepostet werden. Hier kann rege über die Beiträge diskutiert und das ein oder andere hinterfragt werden. Die Betreiber sind allesamt bereits registrierte Mitglieder und können entsprechend darauf Antworten.
Weitere tolle Inhalte sind u.a. ein Chat sowie der Bilder-Upload (kein File-Hoster mehr notwendig!). Schaut einfach mal vorbei, um weitere spannende und hilfreiche Funktionen zu entdecken.

Sanity is for the weak!
Hey hey, seems like I've lost motivation for blogging quiet a long time! As I have to get a new job there's some more free time for me that I am spending with my family and for long nights full of painting until iwas anle to find a new working place.
So, what happened the last weeks?
First of all I've worked a little bit more on the skin of my King Maulg project. Maybe something that will took me ages to finish. But I just wanted to add color if I am in the right mood for.
Here's a shot of the current status:
Beside my most favorite miniature I managed to complete another miniature from Reaper. It's the new Ice Queen.
I didnt liked her staff so replaced it with a little selfmade staff that is less messy an more suitable for the design of that miniature.
There were 2 main goals for this mini. First of all: Working with water effect. The second attempt was to add snow. Both experiments turned out more or less good. Had some issues using the water. I've tried to create some On top of the water surface to cover it with some snow. But my first attempt wasn't what I've expected. So ive decided to use my "rescue 1mm" and added another layer of water effect. Sadly with way too much color mixed in. So it turned out pretty bad!
After giving it a try to hide that layer below a lot of snow I decided to bravely remove that layer with a dremel. So, careful as i am i removed a really thin layer after layer until I've reached the water. Looked like there was a real snowstorm:
That's it so far. Will do the last 5% within the next days. So be patient to see another finished miniature.
2 running projects aren't enough, right? So there are 2 more I am working on.

While I was starting on the base I wasn't sure which miniature could stand on it. My first thought was a dkok commissar. Sadly the base is way too big for him. So I quickly jumped ahead to one of the few space marines I own. Much better ;)
First colors:
In the meantime the new WH 40k Box Dark Veangeance was released. That's where project no. 4 comes into the game.
The first miniature I am going to paint is one of the chosen chaos space marines. During the preparation work I found out that it's a typical TT-Miniature. Some of the details are not as sharp as we would like to see. But in summary it's a pretty nice CSM!
I'll paint that one together with some other painters in some kind of battle. So look forward for some fast progress.

My new Paint-Station from Warlord Games
It was deadly quiet during the last weeks, big sorry for that delay of informations and progresses to all our readers! I`ll promise to post some more pictures of ongoing works, interesting and inspirational links and whatever I like concerning our hobby.
Die letzten Wochen war es ruhig auf und um Painter`s Delight. Zu ruhig... ich will euch versprechen, in zukunft regelmäßiger Links zu Inspirativen und interessanten Bildern, Videos und dem aktuellen Fortschritt meiner Arbeiten zu zeigen.
I recently ordered 2 of the paintstations from warlord games. You can find them right here. Compared to other paintstations the price is in the lower midrange. The service was superb! Right after I`ve placed my order I`ve got an automatically sent eMail comfirmation - like most shops do. Later I`ve got a 2nd mail. They told me that they`ve got everything in stock and are going to pack everything for the long way. A third mail arrived the day after: Package is on it`s way and should arrive soon! Happy man!
Ich habe vor einigen Tagen 2 neue Farbregale bei Warlord Games bestellt. Preislich liegen diese im mittleren Bereich derer, die ich mir angesehen und in die engere Auswahl bezogen habe. Der mir gebotene Service von der Bestellung bis zur Lieferung war top! Ich erhielt nach tätigen der Bestellung neben der Bestätigungsmail noch 2 weitere eMails, die mich über den aktuellen Verlauf meiner Bestellung informiert haben. So wünscht es sich jeder ungeduldige Kunde!

Wie ihr seht, habe ich das Regal bereits gut bestückt UND farblich sortiert. Ein kleienr Wehrmutstropfen bleibt: Es lassen sich leider keine GW- / Vallejo-Töpfe in einem Regal unetrbringen. Hierfür habe ich zum Glück die 2. Treppe :)

Those arrived yesterday and I want to show you those. As I have to always reconstruct my working station and am limited in the space I have to keep my stuff I was looking for a new solution to get my paints out of their current box (better talking about prison - there`s not even 1 square milimeter space...).
"Gestern", das ist nun schon eine Woche her, erhielt ich diese auch endlich. Da ich meinen Malplatz nach jeder Malsession wieder abbauen muss, bin ich auf eine Kompakte, transportable Lösung angewiesen. Genau dies habe ich mir von den Regalen versprochen. Lasst uns schauen, inwiefern diese meinen Wünschen gerecht werden.
After opening the package I`ve seen about 50 different types of laser cutted wooden pieces. I thought it`s the easiest way to put away the bill and take a look at the instruction paper. *searching* ... *searching* Damn, there`s no instruction inside!! Okay, let`s see if I was able to manage this puzzle without it (in my rage of testing and puzzleing I`ve totally forgot about taking pictures during the process):

Der schnellste Weg zu einem aufgebauten Farbregal sollte darin liegen, die Anleitung zu nutzen. Diese lag aber leider nicht bei (und ist auch im Webshop nirgends zu finden). Also ran ans puzzeln... ;) In meiner Vorfreude auf das einsortieren der Regale habe ich es natürlich versäumt, Bilder der einzelnen Teile sowie meiner Fortschritte zu erstellen. Aber hier das Endergebnis:
Those paintstations are really stable (without any glue, nail or whatever!), lightweight and do not need much space in our shelf. Perfectly for my usage! There`s only one thing I would complain about (if I wouldn`t love it...;): The lasercutted pieces are "smelling". I would compare it to the scent of your clothes after standing in front of a pile of burning wood.
Dank eines ausgeklügelten Stecksystems sind die Regale ohne das verwenden von Leim oder Schrauben sehr stabil, leicht und platzsparend in unserem Wandschrank zu verstauen. Also genau das, wonach ich gesucht habe. Einen kleinen Nachteil haben diese laserzuschnitte jedoch: Es riecht nach verbranntem Holz. Und das selbst heute noch, gut 2 Wochen nach dem aufbau. Ein Glück, dass ich diesen Geruch mag, aber so wird es vermutlich nicht jedem gehen.

Da die Farbtöpfe der unterschiedlichen Hersteller auch unterschiedliche Größen / Formen aufweisen, habe ich sowohl eine Treppe für kleine Vallejo-Flaschen als auch eine für GW-Farben geordert. Die Töpfe der beiden Hersteller passen hervorragend in die vorgesehenen Löcher. Selbst voll beladen lässt sich diese Farbtreppe gut anheben.
Wie ihr seht, habe ich das Regal bereits gut bestückt UND farblich sortiert. Ein kleienr Wehrmutstropfen bleibt: Es lassen sich leider keine GW- / Vallejo-Töpfe in einem Regal unetrbringen. Hierfür habe ich zum Glück die 2. Treppe :)

Painting with my son
Today I stood up early in the morning to watch the first Formula 1 Race of this season.
Beside Watching this I was painting on one of the Freebooters Fate Goblins. Be sure to see pictures of that one soon!
While watching the race and painting relaxed on my mini my beloved son came in. He's currently 2 years old. He wanted to paint on his own. So...I sat him on a chair, gave him his D Agostini Luke Skywalker, a brush and some paints on my palette.

Beastman finished
So its done! First of all i wnated to practice a little bit freehand panting and i think it worked quite good.

Painting run
Yesterday evening i really had a "painting run". Sometimes it just flows...
I almost finished the "Beastmen" shown at the lost posting, just added some final highlights and painted the feathers on his head. Pictures will following soon.
I also did some fine-tuning at "Master Wu". I got to glue the mini on its base and glue the leaves and paint them a little bit. maybe on the base will happen something - i am not sure at his moment if thats what i want finally.
Than theres also another project i am working on, but i cant tell to much cause thats an exchange mini with Roman - so it will be a surprise what i am doing here.
And last but not least i created a new project on sunday evening... i bought the minis at the TACTICA and the idea was already taking from in my head. I just had to put all the stuff togehter .... it s still just placed on the base and there will happen some things.
Gestern Abend hatte ich einen regelrechten Mal Run. Manchmal läuft es eben einfach..
Ich hab den Beastmen quasi fertiggestellt den ich im Letzten Post gezeigt hatte. Ein paar Highlights noch und die Federn am Kopf gemalt.
Bei Master Wu hab ich auch ein wenig finetuning betrieben. Hier muss ich noch die Mini aufs Base kleben sowie die Blätter. Evtl werde ich am Base noch etwas machen - da bin ich mir noch nicht so sicher ob es jetzt das ist was ich letztlich haben will.
Dann ist da noch ein anderes Projekt an dem ich gearbeitet hab , aber darüber kann ich jetzt nicht allzu viel sagen da es eine Tauschminiatur für Roman ist - soll also eine Überraschung bleiben bis er sie in den Händen hält.
Und zu guter letzt habe ich am Sonntag Abend noch eine neues Projekt gestartet. Die Minis hatte ich auf der TACTICA gekauft und da hatte ich schon eine Idee im Kopf. Am Sonntag muss ich das dann einfach erst einmal auf die Base bauen. Ist jetzt erstmal nur platziert da wird noch das eine oder andere passieren.

Living in a medievil castle? YES!
While talking about hobbies with family, friends and customers I do often hear that I am some kind of freak painting tiny miniatures to just put them in the shelf to look at - but today I`ve found something that totally topped the meaning of this description!
Most of us have a hobbyroom, a small corner in the flat where we are living our hobby or just a table to paint. For those of us with a room missing some "final touches" this could be the right way to always get the mood you need for painting / playing:

Die meisten von uns besitzen einen Tisch, eine Ecke oder gar einen ganzen Raum in dem wir unserem Hobby fröhnen. Für jene unter uns, die einen ganzen Raum dafür zur Verfügung haben, und diesem noch den "finalen Schliff" geben wollen, möchte ich folgende Bilder zur Anregung zeigen, um beim Malen / Spielen in die richtige Stimmung zu kommen:

As you can read HERE it`s mostly scratchbuilt. A unique room just for hobby-purposes. Such a dream! Have to talk with my wife now, need something else like this too...
Das Malen, Spielen oder nur simpler Hobby-Small-Talk in solch einem Raum wird einem genau die Atmosphäre verschaffen, nach denen solche Dinge förmlich schreien.

it has been a little bit quiet the last 2 weeks from my side - i ve been on the TACTICA in Hamburg with some paintingmates and did a little "showpainting". Was a lot of fun and the people really seemd to enjoy it. We ve been explaining different techniques most of the day and our cabinet was surrounded by the people.
Here some impressions by the webshow MAGABOTATO Issue 69 including a little interview with me (at 6 min.... the guy with that had talking north-german-slang ^^ - always funny hearing your own voice)

Es war etwas ruhig die letzten 2 Wochen von meiner Seite - ich war auf der TACTICA in Hamburg mit ein paar Malfreunden zum "showmalen" Hat riesig Spass gemacht und wir hatten den Eidruck das die Leute es (wieder mal) gut angenommen haben. Wir haben den ganzen Tag verschiedene Techniken erklärt und unserer Vitrine war ständig umlagert.

Sign of life!
As life is going up and down the time invested in our hobby was sparely rare for me during the last 3 weeks. I guess this will change rapidly. Last weekend I bought some miniatures of Freebooter`s Fates Goblin pirates. To be honest I am currently not sure if I`ll ever play this game BUT I`ll defenitely paint those cool goblins soon.
As far as I know Steffen has painted 2 wonderful miniatures and is already working on the third one. So watch out for some pictures in the near future.
Die letzten 3 Wochen bin ich aus diversen Gründen kaum dazu gekommen, mich auch nur gedanklich mit dem bemalen meiner Miniaturen zu beschäftigen. Manchmal spielt das Leben mir anderen Regeln als jenen, die man kennt. Doch das wird sich bald ändern und ihr werdet wieder regelmäßig etwas bei uns lesen können. Letztes Wochenende kaufte ich mir die Goblin Piraten von Freebooter`s Fate. Einige von diesen stehen bereits zusammengebaut auf meinem Tisch und warten auf weitere Bearbeitung. Zudem weiß ich, dass Steffen zumindest 2 fertige Miniaturen hat, die er euch gewiss auch bald zeigen wird. Also Augen auf ;)
Why am I posting today? I found a blog about tabletop games where someone is building his own modular gaming table. It`s not only the classic version of simple plates put randomly together. This table can be used as a shelf for those plates too! Confused? Just take a look at that blog to see what I mean.

Eigentlich wollte ich nur kurz meine neueste Entdeckung posten, der Text erschien mir aber doch arg kurz für einen Post der 3 Wochen hat auf sich warten lassen.
Ich bin heute auf einen Blog gestoßen, indem jemand aufzeigt, wie er sich seinen modularen spieltisch zusammenbaut - und modular gilt hier in mehrfacher hinsicht. Der Tisch lässt sich nach Benutzung zusammenklappen und in dem entstandenen "Regal" können dann die Spielplatten versdtaut werden,. Eine geniale Lösung, findet ihr nicht?

Today I`ve got an eMail from a painting-friend. He wrote me a short description of the advantages and disadvantages of using both, Oils and Acrylics on a miniature. He linked me a short clip on YouTube where Donato Giancola is painting a portrayal with oils of Joan of Arc (French peasant girl who saved the kingdom of France from English domination. National heroine of France).
It`s very inspiring for me to see how he has used the oils at all. Something that seems to be worth a try someday.

Ich erhielt heute eine eMail eines Malfreundes. In dieser beschrieb er mir auf meine Nachfrage hin die Vor- und Nachteile beim malen mit Oel- und Acrylfarben an der selben Miniatur. Zur besseren Verdeutlichung schickte er mir auch den Link eines Videos bei dem man Donato Giancola sieht, wie er ein Gemälde von Jeanne d`Arc mit Oelfarben malt. Jeanne d`Arc ist eine französische Freiheitskämpferin und Nationalheldin.
Ich finde dieses Video sehr inspirierend und werde mir dieses vor meinen ersten Versuchen mit Oelfarben sicher noch mehrfach ansehen.

Almighty Heroes
Let me start with a short animationmovie I`ve found over at vimeo. It`s a funny clip about some snails trying to survive the daily insanity of grandma.... You`re able to find more of those animation clips of this studio there.
Bevor ich euch meine aktuellen Werke vorstelle, möchte ich euch ein sehr amüsantes Video der kleinen Nacktschnecken-Armee zeigen. Ich habe dies zufällig beim herumklicken gefunden und musste sehr lachen. Selbiges Studio hat auch einige andere Animationsfilme auf vimeo veröffentlicht.
Finally I have finished my Workshop-Daemonette which I began back in Januar. During this workshop (I told you abouit this over at the 5th Dimension) I was able to pick up a lot of impressions and a new way of painting. More then thousand tutorials could ever have done... I came to the conclusion that nothing replaces the practical lessons together with other painters. The new learned techniques showed me how to get a better result in a shorter time then before. As I am someone who´s not painting each day for hours, so this is something that`s very precious for me.
Wenige Wochen nach dem Workshop von Roman aka Jarhead ist die Workshop-Daemonette endlich fertig. Hier präsentiere ich euch die ersten Bilder. Ich habe auf dem Workshop mehr über das Malen gelernt, als es tausend Tutorials gekonnt hätten. Hier zeigt sich für mich ein weiteres Mal, dass nichts durch die praktische Malerfahrung zu ersetzen ist. Die dort erlernten Techniken haben nicht nur das malen beschleunigt sondern mir auch gezeigt, dass es mehr als zeitraubendes lasieren gibt um schnell tolle Farbverläufe zu erhalten. Wie sagt man so schön? Der Mix machts :-)

Do I`ve told you that I`ve just painted 2 miniatures last year?! Everything else were WIP`s I`ve throwen over or restarted just because I didn`t hit my expectations... At this point I want to repeat a quote by jarhead again and again:
"Painting is like a muscle, you have to train it to keep the power"
Ich habe letztes Jahr genau 2 Miniaturen bis zum Schluß bemalt. Alles andere wurde im Laufe des Prozesses verworfen oder nochmals neu begonnen. Wieder einmal möchte ich den Workshop aufgreifen und Roman zitieren:
"Malen ist wie ein Muskel. Dieser muss ständig traineirt weren um stärker zu werden und seine Kraft nicht zu verlieren."
I guess most of you know that feeling to not get the result you was looking for. It`s frustrating :( I decided to not paint with high expectations in the future to solve this problem. Each miniature I am going to paint in the upcoming time will be one step better then the one before. So no pressure at all.

Ich habe für mich beschlossen, dass ich diesen Perfektionismus ablege und mich darauf konzentriere, auch mal Ergebnisse vorzeigen zu können. Ständig hing ich an WIP`s fest und begann etwas Neues, ohne den Elan zu haben, diese Miniatur fertigzustellen.

A while ago there were 2 very nice tutorials about painting lavabases. You can find them here and here.
As I am limited to the small gamingbase he comes with I deceided to give him a lavabase to finally test one of those tutorials. I hope that the base is not stealing all the attention since the lava effect will be very strong. Let`s see if this is a task I could deal with. I am really sick of seeing wooden sceneries for the fellowship again and again - so I thought it`s a good way to break this part.
The base is done around 80% - to push the glowing lavaeffect I`ve added orange dayglow-pigments. Makes the base to a real eyecatcher. I`ll finish the base when the mini is done. This ensures to get more harmony between those 2 components.

Aktuell arbeite ich an Frodo von Herr der Ringe. Hinsichtlich des jährlichen GD ist es für diesen natürlich das Ziel, sich dort zu präsentieren und neben all en anderen Gefährten ein gutes Bild abzugeben. Ob mir dies gelingt wird sich zeigen.
Es gab vor einiger Zeit 2 nette Tutorials zur Bemalung von Lavabases. Hier und hier könnt ihr diese nachlesen.
Vorangetrieben vom Drang, dieses auszuprobieren habe ich den kleinen Frodo also auf eine Konstellation aus Korkstücken platziert um eine Anlehnung an die Szenen am Ende des 3. Filmes herzustellen. Mir ist es hierbei wichtig, dass die Base zwar sehr gut wirkt, aber die Miniatur keineswegs in den Hintergrund gerät. Ich hoffe, dass mir dies gelingen wird.

Years ago...
Mostly everyone of us should have been in contact with LEGO in his childhood. So I am not wondering if a lot of adults under us are going to buy some of the upcoming LEGO-Collection.

Here`s a small summary for you:
Nahezu jeder von uns wird in seiner Kindheit mit LEGO gespielt haben. Entsprechend wundert es mich nicht, wenn selbst die heute Erwachsenen unter uns bei den kommenden Veröffentlichungen von LEGO zugreifen werden.
Verschiedene LEGO-Blogs und "Toy-Detectives" zeigen uns erste Bilder der kommenden Herr der Ringe Kollektion welche bereits im August 2012 erscheinen wird!
Als großer Fan ist es doch beinahe Pflicht, diese zu kaufen. Zudem gibt es uns die Möglichkeit, wieder einmal Kind zu sein.

Small steps
While the project on my daemonette is coming to an end the visible steps are smaller. It will be the first miniature 'I am going to finish this year (and in general for a long time).
In kleinen Schritten nähere ich mich dem Ziel. Die erste Miniatur, welche ich in diesem Jahr fertigstellen werde, ist ganz bewusst jene, welche ich auf dem Workshop bei jarhead begonnen habe.
Visible things compared to the last pictures I`ve showed you is my first try at creating real blood. There are also some dots on the skin, just to give it a try. Maybe I shall mention that it`s not my goal to paint this daemonette in a super-duper quality. It`s more to try this and that to see how it works and what I could do better the next time.
Seit den letzten Bildern hat sich nur wenig sichtbares getan. Ich habe meine ersten Gehversuche mit Blut hinter mir und einige Flecken auf der Haut hinzugefügt. Maybe I shall mention that it`s not my goal to paint this daemonette in a super-duper quality. It`s more to try this and that to see how it works and what I could do better the next time.
Seit den letzten Bildern hat sich nur wenig sichtbares getan. Ich habe meine ersten Gehversuche mit Blut hinter mir und einige Flecken auf der Haut hinzugefügt. Mein Ziel an dieser Miniatur ist es nicht, sie besonders herausragend zu bemalen sondernv ielmehr das ein oder andere auszuüprobieren - es ist und bleibt somit eine Workshop-Mini.
Still not finished, but close to the end. Just the hair will get some final touches to make it interesting. Everything else will stay as it is. It`s still hard for me to keep concentration on just one project. Be sure to see several projects going on before the next one will be finished.`even if it`s really tiny!
Der letzte schritt werden die Haare sein,. diese wirken noch sehr flach und langweilig. Alles weietre werde ich auf jetzigem Stand belassen und mich dem nächsten Projekt widmen - steht bereits vorbereitet auf der werkbank und ist... sehr klein ;) Es fällt mir weietrhin schwer, mich auf nur ein Projekt zu konzentrieren, bis dieses abgeschlossen ist. somit bleibt es wohl bei Sprunghaftigen Wechseln zwischen diversen Projekten.

Some Morning music
Slowly I am going to be awake completely.
While my son is playing together with my wife with some small cars I am enjoying several cups of coffee and relaxing a bit.
This is something that is going to give me the right mood for an upcoming project:

Workshop Daemonette
Together with Steffen I`ve visited the beginners painting class of Massive Voodoo in Hamburg.
As it was my first workshop there I had to paint a Daemonette from Games Workshop. It`s a great workshop where Roman aka Jarhead spreads his knowledge all over and shares his wisdom and own experiences when it comes to paint miniatures. Beside this he taught us how to use colors in different combinations and for example how to get a real structure and focus to the base.
Here`s my current result - still not finished:

Master Wu
I want to show you my actual paintjop i am working on. I ve startet it on the Massive Voodoo Workhop in Hamburg this Januar which was so impressive and inspiring again! What you see is almost done on one and a half day of painting. I thought it would be nice not to paint a slaying bloody gore oriented miniature again.
The story so far : Master Wu is on his journey of meditation, riding his blind old turtle with a lot of chi, happiness and satisfaction in his body an mind. He is practicing wu wei, what meens he s doing something without doing anything. So it doesnt matter how long this joerney will take even the plants already grab at him , as long he gots his chi and all that little happy pets around him that are attracticting by his positive energy that flows aorund him....
A new life begins...
Make 4 out of 3 - this blog is getting more and more into life. Beside this there`s something special that makes my heart going boom boom. Take a closer look on your own. This blog will grow as continuously as this little fellow:
